John Wesley once famously said, "There is no holiness apart from social holiness."
What Wesley was referring to was the need for believers to be in authentic, accountable community, he knew that Christians need one another. In Wesley’s Methodist Church, these discipleship groups were called BANDS, CLASSES and SOCIETIES.
In true methodist fashion, ShreveCC is committed to deepening community and forming BANDS, CLASSES and SOCIETIES across Wayne County, and beyond!
Bands
Discipleship Bands represent the most committed level for committed Christians.
Bands consist of three to five people who read together, pray together, and meet together to become the love of God for one another and the world.
Classes
Discipleship Classes represent the next level of commitment.
Classes consist of small groups of individuals focused on spiritual nourishment.
Societies
Discipleship Societies represent the broadest level of commitment.
Societies are representative of the larger community of Methodists.
